At a glance

  • Set the final size before exporting.
  • Bleed sits outside the cut line.
  • Print the PDF at 100% and measure a card.

Set page and card size

For an A4 sheet, choose a 210 × 297 mm page. If you want 63 × 88 mm cards, enter those final dimensions in the builder; do not infer them from the preview or the image’s pixel count.

A classic 3 × 3 grid holds nine cards of that size without large machine marks. When adding bleed or an optical reading area, check the actual placement. A cutting-machine template can hold fewer cards.

Preserve useful artwork and cut lines

Bleed extends the image beyond the final size. Keep text and important details inside the card, away from the cut. Bleed is not a way to enlarge a card to fix incorrect scaling.

Place cutting lines outside useful content. For a machine, preserve the marks and clear areas produced by the template; artwork placed there can prevent reading.

Check the exported PDF

Open the PDF itself, not only the builder preview. Check page size, card count, front and back, and marks. Avoid a second export that silently resizes the page.

Questions about this guide

Why are my cards too small?

Check automatic fitting in the PDF reader and driver first. A page reduced to fit margins shrinks every card.

Is a PDF enough for Cameo cutting?

It supplies the print, but the machine also needs matching cut paths and compatible marks. Keep the same geometry in both files.
